Thubten Nyendrak Rinpoche (Vajra Yogi Master Arik Rinpoche) was born in 1973, into a family with lineage of great Dzogchen masters.

At the age of 9, Rinpoche began formal education of Buddhist sutras, tantras and rituals under the guidance of Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, and Dzogchen Khyentse Rinpoche.

Rinpoche then studied at Dzogchen Five Sciences Buddhist College and received teachings from Kyabje Pema Kasang, Khenchen Dalsel Rinpoche, Khenpo Ongde, Gyaltse Khenpo, Khenchen Chatral Chodrak, Khenpo Orgyan Rigdzin and other renown Masters on the five major and minor sciences, Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Under the supervision and teachings of Khenchen Padma Tzewang, Khenpo Ongde, Nyoshul Rinpoche. Arik Rinpoche was taught the most sacred teachings and The Heart Essence of the Great Perfection.

Rinpoche also received sacred vajrayana teachings from His Holiness Minling Trichen Rinpoche as well as many other renowned Masters. These renowned Masters recognized Rinpoche as the reincarnation of the 7th Gyatrul Padma of the Arik Pugong Monastery. Khenchen Padma Tzewang Rinpoche, Sechen Rabjam Rinpoche and Chartral Rinpoche jointly held a ceremony in Nepal Sechen Monestery to formally recognize him as the reincarnation. Khenchen Padma Tzewang Rinpoche personally officiated his Enthronement ceremony in Kham, Tibet.

Rinpoche has been providing scholarships, as well as housing, to poor but capable students to pursue their education in Qinghai. Other projects of Rinpoche are providing monthly education allowance to students of Dzogchen School in Dege County, giving living allowance to the aged, poor and sick. Currently, Rinpoche is helping to build a retreat centre in Dzogchen area. Rinpoche is also building 8 Relics Stupas in Xingrong and Qinghai.

Since 1999, Rinpoche has been traveling to India, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Nepal, Malaysia and Singapore. Rinpoche aspires to foster links with and spread Buddha Dharma to as many people as possible as to a benefit them and find spiritual development.
